Privacy policy
What the Cinefold website and collections builder do with your information.

Who operates this preview
Cinefold is an early-stage project operated by its founding team. Operator and company details will be published before any paid service begins. Privacy questions can be sent to hello@cinefold.tv.
Information we collect
Apart from the account and configuration details described below, this website does not collect your name, email address, provider passwords, API keys, payment details, or viewing history. Like any website, our server receives your IP address and browser details when it delivers a page; we do not add them to a database or use them to identify you.
If you email us, we use your address and message only to reply.
Cinefold accounts
If you create a Cinefold account, we store your email address and a salted hash of your password. We never store the password itself. We use your email address to identify your account.
Signing in sets one cookie, cinefold_session, which keeps you signed in for up to 30 days or until you sign out. It is needed for your account to work and is not used for tracking or advertising. To slow down password guessing, we count failed sign-ins for each email address in server memory for 15 minutes.
Configurations
To create a configuration, you send us your country, languages, devices, and your TorBox API key. We check the key by asking TorBox whether it belongs to an account. Cinefold does not store the key in its database. It is passed to the AIOStreams service that Cinefold runs on its own server, which keeps it encrypted with your configuration and uses it to find streams.
To find streams, AIOStreams also sends your TorBox API key to Comet, MediaFusion, and StremThru, which are operated independently of Cinefold. It also searches Zilean, Knaben, TorrentGalaxy, and EZTV, which are independent services too, without sending your key. Subtitles come from OpenSubtitles, which does not receive your key. When your app asks for streams or subtitles, the request names the title and passes through Cinefold's server to AIOStreams and these services.
We store your country, language, and device choices with the configuration. Creating a configuration sets one cookie, cinefold_claim, which lets you add the configuration to a Cinefold account within 7 days. A configuration that is not added to an account stops working after 7 days. To prevent abuse, we count attempts for each IP address in server memory for one hour.
Collections builder
The collections builder reads imported collections and addon manifests in your browser to create a downloadable JSON file. Those files are not sent to Cinefold or stored in your browser after you close the page. Interest, region, language, and screen choices are saved in your browser's local storage so you can return to them; Start over clears those saved choices. If you choose to show artwork from your file, your browser requests those images from the image host directly.
Storage and sharing
Account details are stored in Cinefold's database on our hosting provider's servers. Emails you send us are stored with our email provider. We do not sell information. We share it only with processors needed to operate the preview or when legally required.
Retention and your choices
We keep account details until you ask us to delete your account; deleting it also ends its sessions. We keep emails only as long as needed to answer them and follow up. You can ask to access, correct, or delete your information by contacting us.
Security and changes
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no internet service is risk-free. Material changes to this policy will be posted here with a new update date.
